Studio Tour #1

Here's a little glimpse into the place where all things hollyhawk happen.
This is where I sit and sew on my William Prince of Orange chair (another example of my fondness for the Netherlands) and this is my lovely co-worker, Ms. Juki Von Steele. That’s her name because she weighs a ton and needless to say she doesn’t move around much. But I’m quite attached to her, once we got through the hiccups of getting to know each other and she’s turned out to be a very dependable little worked.
There’s lots more of my studio and I’ll show the rest in the near future…

My Favorite Pet Chameleon

I must rave about this cleverly designed top!
The Chameleon by Lady Peacock which can be wrapped and tied in several different ways. I first discovered her shop on etsy and what do you know, she’s only a few spots down from mine at the Sunday Market in Victoria. Check out her shop for all the details and multiple ways this top can be styled and dresses too.

Deliciously Dutch

It's no secret to anyone who know me that I love Holland! You see when when I was 11 or so my family was lucky enough to have lived there for a few years. Being exposed to European style and design had a profound effect on me. So this is my ode to The Netherlands with just a few of the handmade Dutch delights on etsy...

Wishing More Crafts Were Edible

Funny thing, ever since I started spend more time making little leather goodies, I’ve found it quite a challenge to muster up the inspiration to cook food. More and more of my dinners consists of a quick walk to the grocery store for whatever they offer in convenient edibles, not very ideal.

So these yummy little sushi treats by Bueno Style caught my eye. Unfortunately not edible, and intended to make your feline crazy with the catnip inside, still they make me hungry and maybe just the inspiration I need to cook and craft up a storm…

48 Hour Lotto

Thanks to everyone who bought and cleaned me out of Strapped Leather Cuffs yesterday. And an extra special thanks to Fringe, who makes lovely hand crocheted and knit items. She composed a Treasury that included one of my cuffs and won the lotto, making it on the Etsy home page.

I guess I'll be busy make more...

In The Market...

If you're in Victoria, come and find me at the Government Street Market starting April 29th and on every Sunday & Holiday Monday through the summer (maybe not if it's very rainy).
It's a great gathering of eclectic wears, scumptous eatables and lively enternaiment, right next to China town.

Huffalo Jewelery

I just had to feature some of the gorgeous, rich in colour, copper enamel jewelery Huffalo creates. The blue bird earrings are a purchase of mine that I just adore. The Huffalo website is full of her artistic endeavors and if there's something you have to have, check out her etsy shop.

Spread Your Wings

Welcome to another outlet for my creative venture. It would be so great to meet and share with other creators and appreciate of indie, DIY handmade designs through this blog. It’s been a long time coming, but finally I’m doing exactly what I’ve always had a passion for and I’m truly in seventh heaven (especially since seven is one of my luckiest numbers)...
